Solid Characterisation Service

Solid Characterisation Service is a research unit support that comprises a wide variety of characterisation techniques for all types of solid materials (from porous materials to nanostructured materials). The task of this service is performing thermal, chemical and textural characterisation of materials as well as the development of new analytical methods, with the highest technical accuracy, working in a responsible and transparent way to ensure maximum reliability of the results.

The Service has highly experienced technical staff to carry out the analysis under the conditions required. In addition, it offers technical advice and interpretation of results.

The different techniques are divided into five sections:

  • Thermal analysis (Termogravimetric, TPR, TPO, TPD, chemisorption and mass spectrometry)
  • Textural characterisation (Specific surface area, porosity, particle size determination and density)
  • X-Ray diffraction
  • X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy
  • Raman and FTIR spectroscopy
