Thermal Analysis

DIFFERENTIAL THERMAL ANALYSIS AND THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS (DTA, TGA)

Thermogravimetric analysis are carried out in a Libra F1 thermobalance by Netzsch. This TGA instrument allows to heat the sample under different gas mixtures (inert or oxidizing), from ambient temperatures up to 1100°C. The heating rate can be varied from 0.001 K/min to 200 K/min, with a resolution of 0.1 microgram and a measuring range of +2000mg.

TEMPERATURE PROGRAMMED DESORPTION (TPD)

Characterization of supported solid catalysts on AutoChemII by Micromeritics. TPD tests allow the characterization of catalyst acid centers by measuring its surface acidity and determining the distribution and strength of the active sites.

TEMPERATURE PROGRAMMED OXIDATION (TPO)

Programmed oxidation temperature analysis (TPO) with thermal conductivity detector and different gas compositions: 5% O2 / He. TPO analyses allow quantifying the oxidation capacity of the active metal catalyst.

TEMPERATURE PROGRAMMED REDUCTION (TPR)

Programmed rduction temperature analysis (TPR) with thermal conductivity detector and different gas compositions: 10% H2 / Ar. TPR analyses allow quantifying the reduction capacity of the active metal catalyst.

QUIMISORCIÓN

Characterization of supported solid catalysts on AutoChemII by Micromeritics. Chemisorption test are perfoming by dynamic pulse method with different gases (H2, CO, O2). These tests provide information about dispersion of the active metal in the supported catalyst as well as particle size and active surface.

MASS SPECTROMETRY

ThermoStar - Neu -

Analysis of effluent gases with OmniStar TM mass spectrometer (Pfeiffer). Mass spectrometry coupled with thermal analysis provides speciation of evolved species as function of temperature and time to provide an extremely powerful technique for the characterisation of materials. The spectometer can be coupled with a thermobalance or with automatic equipment for catalysts characterisation, Autochem II.
